Today more than ever it's important to be marketable. Why should they hire you over someone else? You better know this if you're hoping for that entry-level job or that internship. But I always wonder, how do I do this? It feels kind of uncomfortable thinking of yourself that way. And although it's important, I feel like networking is really awkward.
How do you go about doing this?
LinkedIn is great for online networking, and it's real easy to use. As for networking in general, it's best to land yourself an internship, work hard and network through them. To get an internship, network through your teachers who see potential in you and help you land an internship.
ReplyDeleteI agree networking can be awkward sometimes. You have to put yourself out there and hope for the best. It is a little uncomfortable when you try to think of yourself as better than the next person. Although you do want to be the person chosen, you still don't want to come across as being arrogant or pushy.
